[AJPW News] Hikaru Sato joins Evolution and SUSHI and Menso~re Oyaji get an Asia Tag title match.

Suwama and Hikaru Sato came into the office to formally announce Hikaru as the latest member of the “Evolution” faction. Suwama gave Hikaru an ultimatum though as he has been tasked to be crowned a champion, more specifically with the Asia Tag belts to join alongside Suwama and Doering with the World Tag belts. Hikaru stated that even though he did not win the Jr. Battle of Glory that he will fight with his full body and soul for Evolution. He aims to bring nothing more than victory to Evolution going forward.
Suwama seems more than pleased that an evolution/transforming of Hikaru will bring nothing but more strength to the group.

SUSHI & Menso~re Oyaji then graced the room with their presence as they will be receiving an Asia Tag match at the show in Okinawa on 2/23 against Jun Akiyama & Yoshinobu Kanemaru. SUSHI started off by acknowledging Akiyama’s statement that he will be hunting to finally eliminate SUSHI. SUSHI stated that he will finally prove himself against Akiyama and that the oldest active belts in Japan will be his and Oyaji’s.

[All Japan News] All Japan Pro-Wrestling held a press conference of their own today to announce that the GAORA TV Championship will be returning to the promotion, and that they will be holding a small tournament to crown the new champion.Of course this comes with the announcement by SUSHI that he wanted to see the belt brought back to the promotion, in which the belt has been sitting vacant since July soon after Seiya Sanada lost the belt to Rene Dupree while on tour and training in Canada. Then with the split happening, it just caused the belt to be lost in the mix. The belt though was returned back to GAORA and All Japan has been given the blessing to re-instate the belt as active. The contenders have been announced as SUSHI, Hikaru Sato, Masao Inoue, and DDT’s Keisuke Ishii and the first round matches will take place on November 21 at the Korakuen Hall. SUSHI advocated for the belts return, but he will have a tough match first thing as is set to take on Hikaru Sato.Sato had nothing but criticism for SUSHI and stated that he better be prepared for a battle. Then that leaves Masao Inoue and Keisuke Ishii who will be facing off in the first round against one another. Ishii aims to continue to live his dream by competing in All Japan and he aims to prove himself in the tournament. All Japan also announced the full tour event cards with the inclusion that DDT’s “Team Dream Futures” will be competing on the full tour. All Japan Event Cards for November & December 2013http://puroresuspirit.wordpress.com/2013/11/10/all-japan-event-cards-for-november-december-2013/

    (2) Masanobu Fuchi & SUSHI vs. Masao Inoue [Free] & Tamon Honda [Free]
Winner: SUSHI (18:02) with the TEKKAMAKI on Inoue.
~ With this win today, SUSHI is looking towards carrying the momentum into the upcoming singles tournament.

(-) Special Break Exhibition Match: Masahiro Chono [Aristrist] & Joe Doering vs. KENSO & Nobuo Shiraishi
Winner: Chono (8:52) with an STF on Shiraishi.
~ Shiraishi falls in his ring debut to the veteran Chono.

    (3) Jun Akiyama vs. Takao Omori
Winner: Akiyama (11:12) via referee stop, KO.
~ Akiyama knocked out Omori following a well placed knee to the face. This is a big loss for Omori as he was very close of having another shot at the Triple Crown belts.

    (4) Asia Tag Championship Match: [92nd Champions] Kotaro Suzuki & Atsushi Aoki vs. [Challengers] Drago & Argenis (both AAA)
Winner: Aoki (11:54) with the Assault Point on Argenis.
    ~ 3rd successful title defense.
~ The AAA duo seemed to have the match in their favor with high flying tactics, but the champion team eventually broke through and secured the victory.

    (5) World Junior Heavyweight Championship Match: [35th Champion] Yoshinobu Kanemaru vs. [Challenger] Hikaru Sato (Pancrase MISSION)
Winner: Kanemaru (22:28) following the Touch Out.
    ~ 5th successful title defense.
~ This match was noted to have been unique clash of styles, Hikaru with the shoot background and Kanemaru with the high flying and technical skills. After 22 minutes of back and forth action Kanemaru would deliver the killer blow and remain champion.
~ Kanemaru and Hikaru shook hands after the match and it seems something more could come from this match as the “tag” was used. Kanemaru doesn’t currently have an active tag partner and neither does Hikaru at this point. I guess we will see in the future what may come about with a potential union.

    (6) Triple Crown Championship Match: [46th Champion] Suwama vs. [Challenger] Go Shiozaki
Winner: Suwama (35:02) following the Last Ride.
    ~ 2nd successful title defense.
~ Suwama gets his revenge over Shiozaki and with that will go down as the last Triple Crown champion in All Japan Pro-Wrestling. Suwama stated that he will carry the history of the belts in spirit in the future.
~ The belts are reportedly heading back to being under the possession of Makoto Baba, Giant Baba’s wife, following this match.
~ UPDATE: Suwama further stated that he would like to a new “shining” Triple Crown belt to be unveiled at the 10.27 show at the Ryogoku Kokugikan.
It might be safe to assume that whoever wins the upcoming tournament could move on to face Suwama for a new belt, but that is only speculation at this time.

~ Next up for All Japan is the upcoming ROYAL ROAD single tournament that begins on September 11th. The full info on the upcoming tournament can be found in the link below.
