[DIAMOND RING/VooDoo MURDERS/NOAH News] Katsuhiko Nakajima announced that he will be bringing in Yutaka Yoshie to team up with him and Kajiwara to take on the VooDoo MURDERS on March 17.

Since size and height is a factor in the up coming match, Nakajima has taken it upon himself to find someone who can back up their height with the large size and that man is Yoshie. All 3 members of the VooDoo MURDERS they are facing are all over 180cm (Kento 186cm/97kg, Taishi 190cm/95kg & TARU 185cm/100kg) which completely beats the 175cm/97kg of Nakajima and the 170cm/83kg of Kajiwara. So the 180cm/150kg frame of Yutaka Yoshie is what Katsukaji (Katsuhiko & Kajiwara) are hoping will be bring the extra power that they need.

Also in a separate interview it seems that Miyahara & Takizawa have mentioned their intentions of going after the GHC Heavy Tag Team belts. Both men will make their first appearances as a team in NOAH on 3.10, and it seems they aim to make a statement when they face the Bravado Brothers.
With NOAH’s Global Tag League tournament coming up in April one could easily speculate that they will be one of the participating teams.

[NOAH News] Pro Wrestling NOAH announced the full match card for the upcoming big show at Yokohama on March 10.
Following the announcements from the past couple weeks of all the GHC titles being on the line, NOAH announced a few matches to fill out the first half of the show.

The rookies will open the show with DR’s Mitsuhiro Kitamiya taking on NOAH’s Hitoshi Kumano. The VooDoo MURDERS will be making their way from DR to NOAH as the latest memebers in DR’s Kento Miyahara and K-DOJO’s Taishi Takizawa have been announced to be on the show as they take on the The Bravado Brothers.
DR’s Kensuke Sasaki and Katsuhiko Nakajima will be taking on the team of Akitoshi Saito & Masao Inoue. Nakajima and Saito have built a bit of a rivalry in the last few years and I wouldn’t put it past of them two getting into a kicking war before all is said and done.
The now 3 man team of The Mighty Don’t Kneel will be coming together to take on BRAVE’s Takeshi Morishima, Mohammed Yone & Yoshinari Ogawa. The TMDK trio will surely be looking to make a statement on the big show.

NOAH also announced matches for some of their other events scheduled throughout the month of March.

[DIAMOND RING News] YASSHI speaks in regards to the new VooDoo Murders and DR upcoming shows.

Following the last show on February 11th, we have come to learn that “brother” YASSHI has come forward as the leader of the VooDoo Murders and has some strong recruiting gifts as former Kensuke Sasaki/Office protege Kento Miyahara and K-DOJO’s Taishi Takizawa.
VDM are currently 5 members strong with YASSHI, TARU, Kengo, Kento Miyahara & Taishi Takizawa [pictured], and it seems YASSHI is looking to take charge as one of the leading groups in Japan.

The next show for DR will be on February 24th as Kento Miyahra will be teaming with Kengo (formerly Kengo Nishimura [23]) to take on Satoshi Kajiwara & Mitsuhiro Kitamiya. Kajiwara & Kitamiya were the first ones to be a part of Miyahara’s betrayal. You can be sure that both will be looking to take get some revenge and as well shed some answers on why Kento jumped ship.

Antonio Honda won the right to challenge Kensuke Sasaki on the 2.11 show and will be getting the match in the main event spot on the next upcoming show.

VooDoo Murders will be involved in the event, but no match has been announced for them at this time. Presumably this may point to towards waiting to see what transpires from the 2.24 show.

NOSAWA Rongai was the runner-up on the 2.11 show, but will receive a one on one match against Sasaki. NOSAWA is looking to reinvigorate himself as a pro wrestler and the same can be said for Sasaki who just returned from being sidelined in this month.

[DIAMOND RING News] DR announced the full show card for their 1st year anniversary on Feb. 11th. Kento Miyahara and Akira Hokuto were on hand for the press conference to announce the final two matches for the upcoming show.

Among the announcements is DR accepting the challenge from the Voodoo Murders to compete on the show. YASSHI originally announced that he was aiming for his return, but yesterday led to the shocking return of TARU. TARU has thrown his name back out there that he wants to return to the ring, and it is up to him when they might happen. DR announced that Kento Miyahara will be teaming with K-DOJO’s Taishi Takizawa to take on the team of VOODOO MURDERS with their decision on who exactly will compete from their group, as well as the inclusion of Kazunari Murakami. That is to say if he so chooses to associate himself with the group.

Sasaki’s return match has been set as it was announced that he would be teaming with NOAH’s Takashi Sugiura to take on the team of his top student, Katsuhiko Nakajima, and ZERO1’s Shinjiro Otani. Interesting development to see Sasaki teaming with Sugiura, but it should be interesting to see how they work together against Nakajima & Otani. Sasaki and Otani have a history against one another, and who knows if this may lead to another singles clash down the road.

[DIAMOND RING News/Kensuke Sasaki Update] DR announced that Kensuke Sasaki will be officially returning to the ring on February 11th.

Sasaki has been been resting and recuperating from the surgery he had on October 26, 2012 to try and relived the pain he was suffering from with herniated cervical disc. Sasaki said that he thanks everyone who sent him support and encouragement while he was away, but he is now determined to come back strong.

No match has been announced for his return, but both Katsuhiko Nakajaima and Kento Miyahara made the bid to be a part of his return match.
Only a few matches have been announced for the anniversary show, with at least 2 more matches, including Sasaki’s return match, to be announced by next week.

[DIAMOND RING News] It has been announced that Katsuhiko Nakajima and Kento Miyahara will meet each other one on one at the December 8th show. This will mark the first time in 3 years since the two have faced one another.
Kento Miyahara [23

] has been competing as a pro wrestler since February of 2008 and is aiming to be a future top heavyweight contender in Japan. While Nakajima [24] has been in pro wrestling since 2003/04 and has really become Sasaki’s top pupil.
With Sasaki being forced out of competing after undergoing surgery last month Nakajima has taken it upon himself to test what Miyahara has learned since his stride to become a real heavyweight.
Also announced for the show is a 6 man tag featuring KAIENTAI DOJO’s Taishi Takizawa, who is a former WWE trainee Jiro and has found a new sense of direction in Japan, as he teams with Satoshi Kajiwara and, the new mysterious masked man of DIAMOND RING, Tsurugi. They will be taking on the DRAGON GATE duo of Kenichiro Arai & K-ness. and the always physical Kazunari Murakami.
The reigning Tohoku Jr. Champion Fujita “Jr” Hayato will also be making an appearance as he faces off against Kensuke Sasaki’s latest rookie Mitsuhiro Kitamiya.

[Kensuke Sasaki Update] It was originally announced that Sasaki would be undergoing laser surgery on his neck in Mid-November, but today it was announced that his surgery was performed on October 26 and it was successful.

Akira Hokuto, Kensuke’s wife, announced that the surgery was performed in Osaka and was successful, and that he is now back home and recuperating.
Sasaki said that he will be returning to the ring, but as for a time that will be announced after he heals from the surgery and is able to resume training and build himself back up.

DIAMOND RING will be holding their first year anniversary on February 11, and it would almost be expected that Sasaki will be a part of that show. Thought we will have to wait and see.

[DIAMOND RING News] Kensuke Sasaki’s promotion announced that they will be holding there 1st year anniversary on February 11 at the Korakuen Hall. The show will be called “Dream Anniversary 2013”.
Kensuke Sasaki is currently taking time away from the ring to prepare for surgery to his upper back in November, and it is unknown at this time if he will actually be able to compete by February.

Kensuke Sasaki [46] announced that he will be undergoing surgery due to suffering from a cervical spine hernia. Sasaki has been dealing with the pain of the injury for quite sometime and that the doctors have suggested that he look into having surgery to correct the problem. Sasaki will be having the procedure done in mid-November.
Sasaki was diagnosed with cervical disc herniation between sixth and seventh cervical vertebrae and will be undergoing laser surgery to try and relieve the compressed disc. Sasaki has promised that he will indeed return, but for now it is time for him to rest and return when he is stronger and better than ever.

Sasaki also stated that he will leave Katsuhiko Nakajima in charge of the Kensuke Office boys and he hopes that his boys, more specifically Kento Miyahara, will continue to grow in his absence.

Weekend Recap for October 1, 2012 [Vol. 4]

Sort of a slow weekend with nothing much going on except for a few shows, but I will try to cover some of the moments from this weekend 9/29 and 9/30 as well as any forthcoming news as I write this.

[NOAH]
The biggest news from the weekend came with Shuji Kondo beating Yoshinobu Kanemaru for the GHC Junior Heavweight belt on September 29. This match was kind of a toss up between the two going in, with some people I knew actually suspecting that Kondo could walk out the new champion. Well that indeed happened and that will lead us into a pretty big shift as NOAH aims to bring the belt back home.
Much like with All Japan Pro-Wrestling this year with having all their belts held by outside promotions, the President of All Japan Masayuki Uchida was very pleased that someone was from his promotion able to claim a belt from another promotion.

Now we almost have the entire NOAH Jr. roster stepping up to challenge the new champion. I say almost as Shuji Kondo had 2 specific people he wanted to face in Naomichi Marufuji and KENTA, who for the longest were the symbols of the NOAH Jr. division. Both Marufuji and KENTA have recently said they are done with the Jr. division as they aim to become mainstay’s against the heavyweights. Shuji Kondo though has teetered on the line between heavyweight and junior throughout the years and has even stated that he would turn into a “true” heavyweight just to face them, even though Marufuji and KENTA are still classified as Junior weights (under 100kg).
No challenger has been named for the new champion, but I suspect something to be set up at GREAT VOYAGE 2012 in YOKOHAMA vol.2 on Oct. 8 or during the
Autumn Navig.2012 tour that starts on Oct. 7 and runs through Oct. 27.

Takeshi Morishima got his win back over Jun Akiyama following the embarrassing tap out by the hands of Jun Akiyama.

No one looks to have really came out the winner after the 20+ minute 6 man tag match, but next weekend will bring us the GHC Heavy title match. Both men will have a lot to prove on October 9, but it should be a great, well I should say, “war” between the two.

More information leading into the NOAH vs. ZERO1 feud.
Kohei Sato is looking to bring the ZERO1 war with full force with his ultimate goal or going right after Takeshi Morishima and the GHC Heavyweight belt. It was already suspected that Kohei would be aiming for a GHC title match sooner than later, and it seems we could see it soon that is if Kohei beats Maru on 10/8.

ZERO1 just finished the WORLD YOUTH CUP series of shows on October 30.

Yusuke Ueda emerged the victor after the final battle royal on Oct. 30th and will be heading to Nepal at the end of the year to take part in a charity show and bring donations that ZERO1 has gathered.
Speaking of excursions it has also been announced that Daichi Hashimoto and Yoshikazu Yokoyama will be heading to Hong Kong in December to learn and train with Jason New and others in the Honk Kong Wrestling Federation, also known as ZERO1 Hong Kong. This will be the first overseas excursion for them both.
This will be a significant time for Daichi to learn and grow in strength before his debut with New Japan Pro Wrestling at the Tokyo Dome on January 4.

The biggest headline for Dramatic Dream Team this weekend was the crowning of a new KO-D Openweight Champion when El Generico defeated Kota Ibushi after a 23_ minute match to be win the title.
El Generico has competed in DDT and UNION for over the last year now and has become someone who the fans like to see compete in Japan. Generico, if I am not mistaken, is also the first non-Japanese wrestler to win the belt. What’s next for Generico has yet to be determined.

DR’s show on Sunday saw Masato Tanaka defeat Katsuhiko Nakajima in a 21+ minute match, in what was said to be very hard hitting and with a lot of great back and forth spots.
Kento Miyahara was said to have shown a lot of promise with his match against Jun Akiyama, which lasted 17+ minutes. Miyahara has been seen as Sasaki’s top heavyweight prospect for the last couple of years and his match on Sunday was said to have been a strong sign for his future.

DR’s next show will be on October 7.
