James Raideen the FIRE FESTIVAL 2013 Winner and the newly crowned ZERO1 World Heavyweight Champion.

The 22 year old Raideen set two records today as well as he is the youngest to win the Fire Festival tournament and youngest to win the World Heavyweight belt.
~ Well maybe 3 records, if you count going over Masato Tanaka….

[ZERO1 News] I am going to try to consolidate the bits of news into this single post so bare with me. (It will contain Fire Festival Spoilers) ~ Masato Tanaka (39) was crowned the Fire Festival Champion for the 4th time after the conclusion of this years tournament by defeating NOAH’s Go Shiozaki in the Finals. Tanaka was said to be dealing with both nausea and fatigue, but he battled through it and picked up the win. He said he took a much needed day of rest today, but he aims to get back in the gym tomorrow.
Tanaka now holds the right to face the current champion Akebono for the World Heavyweight belt. ~ Speakling of Akebono, there seems to be a new member of TEAM ZERO64 as Daisuke Sekimoto and Akebono shook hands, following Tanaka vs. Sekimoto in the Festival. It seems we will have a new superpower team in the making. ~ Yusaku Obata picked up the NWA UN Heavyweight belt from Shito Ueda on 8.5, and within no time of winning he was met with new challengers. James Raideen has been aiming to win the belt for quite some time now, though losing to Ueda back in June he has been building himself back up to title contention once more. Joe Coffey also appeared to challenge the champion as well. Obata and Daichi has been bitter rivals in the ring as of late, so it may only be a matter of time before they face off as well. ~ Daichi Hashimoto, who was unable to earn a victory in the Fire Festival, has said that he shamed by not winning, but has asked if he nominated himself to be allowed to participate in the upcoming Tenkaichi Jr. (3 Day) Tournament, which starts on September 12th. Daichi also announced his plans to reach 100kg in body weight next year, but he wants to compete in the Jr. tournament while he is still a Jr. Daichi Hashimoto will be heading back to NOAH on August 9th as he teams with Masato Tanaka & Ikuto Hidaka to take on Jun Akiyama, Kotaro Suzuki & Atsushi Aoki. Daichi also mentioned that he would like to compete in NOAH’s Jr. Tag League as well (but the dates may conflict with the Tenkaichi tournament). If he does get to compete, he wants to team with Ikuto Hidaka.

[ZERO1] The 2012 Fire Festival is set to begin on July 20th, and ZERO1 held a press event for the upcoming tournament today. During the press conference Daisuke Sekimoto returned the Fire Sword back to the ZERO1 committee. Though he cannot hold the sword during the tournament he is looking to bring it back to BJW again this year. Shinjiro Otani, the first ever winner, will be celebrating his 20th year as a pro wrestler and is looking to reclaim the sword for the 5th time. Daichi Hashimoto is looking to make a strong showing in his debut in the tournament and even win it. Tomoaki Honma and Ryoji Sai have been back and forth over the last several months, and they both got confrontational during the pres conference (they face off on 8/5).
