[NOAH News] Pro Wrestling Noah has made it official that Daisuke Harada will be defending the GHC Junior Heavyweight belt against Quiet Storm on May 31st at Differ Ariake.Storm has made several appearances in Noah in the last month and has been racking up wins, more specifically in tag matches against Harada. Though he has yet to pin the junior champion in Noah, Storm is a former Osaka Pro Champion, much like Daisuke Harada, and the two have met previously while in Osaka. There was originally concern that Storm was not at the 100kg weight limit to compete for the Junior class belt, but he was officially weighed in at just at 98kg. So nothing stood in the way to make the match happen.

[NOAH News] A press conference was held today for the upcoming GHC Heavyweight and Junior championship matches that are scheduled to take place this month.

The reigning GHC Heavyweight Champion Yuji Nagata was present for the title contract signing, but as usual Maybach was not present as the challenger. Nagata would take a seat, but then Maybach rushed into the room and attacked Nagata. Nagata though seemed more than prepared for an attack as he showcased his own secret weapon with a blue mist (blue justice mist?) and he went straight for Maybach’s eyes. Nagata would then shove Maybach’s face into the contract before Maybach left the room following a dose of his own medicine.

Nagata then went on with the press conference and stated that following the recent NJPW 2 day tour in Taiwan that he underwent some special training. He stated that he has indeed learned a new “dodge technique” and that it could come in handy if Maybach decides to bring in his favorite weapon. Nagata declared that he will successfully defended the belt in Nagoya on the 20th and he aims to beat the hell out of Maybach in the process.

The second part of the conference was for the GHC Jr. Heavyweight belt match between the champion Daisuke Harada and the challenger Atsushi Kotoge. This match will be quite fitting as it takes place in Osaka, Japan. As they are both were born in that area and got their starts there. Both have been close friends as well as rivals in their 8+ year career’s. the two look to be aiming to go all out for the match in their hometown, and it could be a match worth checking when these two face off with the belt on the line.

[NOAH News] Pro Wrestling Noah held a press conference for their upcoming singles title matches on March 8.

The GHC Heavyweight belt will be defended in the main event of the show. Takashi Sugiura has already fired his first shots at Yuji Nagata following Nagata’s first successful defense over KENTA on 2/22. It seems Sugiura has taken offense to Nagata’s celebrating, aka his Nagadance, and thinks that is not fitting for someone who holds the GHC Heavyweight belt. Sugiura’s main noteworthy phrase from today’s press conference is that he is adamant about preventing Nagata from dancing and aims to recapture the belt. Nagata rebuted by stating that he feels that Sugiura may not be the rightful contender as it took a cheap shot for him to get the title match. Nagata though knows Sugiura has great power and hopes to see the true contender in Sugiura to come out during the match.

Taiji Ishimori and Daisuke Harada were also present today for the signing of the scheduled GHC Junior Heavyweight match. As noted multiple times heading into this show, Ishimori is aiming to continue his record setting defense record as he once more puts the belt up against “The Young Master” Harada. Harada has been on fire with much of the new year and since joining the No Mercy faction he aims to further push his “new beginning” with a much needed title win. Harada stated that this will be Ishimori’s final spot as the junior champion, and Harada aims to start a new wave for the future of the junior division. Ishimori though is aiming to make his 11th defense and continue setting the bar for the junior division.

    1,600 Spectators (overcrowded)

~ An honoring ceremony was held for the late Ryu Nakata. A few wrestlers more specifically in Atsushi Onita and DDT’s Kota Ibushi brought him flowers as well.

    (1) NOAH vs DIAMOND RING: Hitoshi Kumano vs. Mitsuhiro Kitamiya
Winner: Kitamiya (8:05) with a Texas Clover Hold.

Winner: Kenou (9:57) with a Modified Camel Clutch.

Winner: Ishimori (14:13) with the Kaze Musō (Wind Warrior) on Genba.
~ Ishimori debuted his new maneuver following a special sumo training session from last week. It seems the move could actually be adapted from a former Noah wrestler in Takeshi Rikioh.

    (5) BRAVE vs Dangan Yankees: Naomichi Marufuji & Atsushi Kotoge vs. Takashi Sugiura & Masato Tanaka [ZERO1]
Winner: Sugiura (14:50) following the Olympic Qualifying Slam on Kotoge.
~ There appears to be some heat between Marufuji and Tanaka. The two stood face to face following the match, so it might be safe to assume that nothing is over between the two.

    (6) Chokibogun vs TMDK: Takeshi Morishima, Maybach Taniguchi & Hajime Ohara vs. Mikey Nicholls, Shane Haste & Jonah Rock
Winner: Nicholls (15:31) following the Thunder Valley on Maybach.

Winner: Nagata (25:01) with the Backdrop Hold.
    ~ First successful title defense.
~ Takashi Sugiura took out Nagata while Nagata was trying to celebrate with his “Nagadance”. Sugiura claimed himself to be the next contender for the GHC Heavyweight belt.
~ So with the timing, this points to what could be the main event for the Ariake Colosseum show on March 8.

[NOAH News] A signing ceremony was hold for the upcoming GHC Heavyweight Championship match on 2/22 between Yuji Nagata and KENTA.

KENTA stated that this upcoming match feels completely different that the first, obviously slow with the title holder now switched, and that he is glad to be able to challenge for the belt once more after losing it 2 months prior. KENTA stated that he wants to bring a positive feeling back to Noah by bringing the belt back home where it belongs. KENTA stated that there will be a different atmosphere now that Ryu Nakata is no longer with us, but in no way will that change KENTA’s mindset for what he needs to accomplish in the ring.

Yuji Nagata then got a chance to speak. He started off by saying that KENTA is ready for the match and so is he.. His goal as well is to reach out to the fans and offer an incredible match that will please them. Nagata aims to change the mindset of the fans in regards to an outsider champion. Nagata stated that he aims to showcase the fighting spirit as champion and honor what it means to be champion. Nagata said that this is quick defense given he just won the belt just 2 weeks prior of his winning, but this just means that he gets to settle the win/loss to KENTA sooner than later.

Below is the announced card for the show.

Winner: Kenou (10:30) with a Modified Camel Clutch on Kitamiya.
~ After the match the Noah juniors came out to assist Ogawa. More specifically in Ishimori and Harada.
~ Genba tried to save his former partner Ohara, by trying to get him out of the ring. Clearly he is playing the delusional character now.

    (3) TMDK vs NO MERCY: Jonah Rock vs. Yoshihiro Takayama [Takayama Hall]
Winner: Takayama (4:55) following a Running Knee.

    (4) TMDK vs XNL: Mikey Nicholls vs. Xtra Large

    (8) GHC Heavyweight Championship Match: [20th Champion] Takeshi Morishima vs. [Challenger] Yuji Nagata (NJPW)
imageWinner: Nagata (19:01) with the Backdrop Hold.
image~ The champion falls on his 1st defense. Nagata becomes the 21st generation champion.
~ Nagata was aided by TMDK, Nicholls & Haste, to even the odds against Chokibogun.

So the question remains is Nagata aligned with TMDK? Both wear blue after all, well if anything, clearly Blue Justice lives!- BushidoRX

~ KENTA came out to challenge Nagata for his newly won belt. Nagata accepted.

[NOAH News] Pro Wrestling Noah held the official press signing for the upcoming GHC Heavyweight title match between Takeshi Morishima and Yuji Nagata, that is set for tomorrow February 8.

Morishima has more or less declared that he will successful defend the belt against Nagata and will continue forward as the monster champion.
Nagata on the other hand has a pinfall victory over Morishima and is waiting for the belt to now be on the line. This will mark the fourth time that Nagata has challenged for the GHC Heavyweight belt.
Nagata noted that he is aware of Morishima’s Chokibogun, army force, and he has dealt with many groups previously over the years in NJPW. He stated that Chokibo is still very young in comparison to them. Nagata will also not be bringing a second with him… which might prove bad as it is almost guaranteed that Maybach, Kenou and Ohara will get involved.

Morishima replied back that Chokibo might still be young, but that they will be quick in making an impact. They only plan to get more violent each and every day going forth. Morishima stated that he will take on everyone and that no one will stand in their way.

Morishima and Nagata then prepared for the photo session, but it was cut short as Maybach Taniguchi, Hajime Ohara, and Kenou came out and attacked Nagata from behind.

Morishima stated that this will be Nagata’s outcome tomorrow, then the group left the conference room with Nagata on the floor.

Nagata eventually arose in frustration and asked where Morishima and his army went, but they had already left.

Winner: Harada (14:12) with the Katayama German Suplex Hold on Ishimori.
~ Harada with the pin on the reigning jr. champion. Harada wants another chance against Ishimori.
~ Genba stated that he wants a shot at the GHC Jr. Tag belts, but Ohara cut him off and stated that he doesn’t want to tag with Genba. Potentially pointing that he wants to team with Harada instead?

    (5) BRAVE vs Morishima Army: Mohammed Yone vs. Kenou [Michinoku]
Winner: Yone (7:12) via foul, Hajime Ohara attacked Yone and announced his alliance with Morishima’s army.

    (6) NO MERCY vs BJW Special Single Match: KENTA vs. Shinya Ishikawa
Winner: KENTA (15:11) following the go 2 sleep.
~ Said to have been a really good match. If this is true, then Shinya might have earned himself a potential strong connection in Noah going forward.

    (7) NOAH vs NJPW Special Tag Match: Naomichi Marufuji & Ricky Marvin vs. Yuji Nagata [NJPW] & Jushin Thunder Liger [NJPW]
Winner: Nagata (17:01) with a Back Drop Hold on Marvin.

~ TMDK demanded a rematch, as Ohara and Kenou aided the new champs in the match.
~ Nagata came out to aid TMDK, but was met with weapon attacks by Kenou and Maybach. Nagata stated that he will defeat Morishima in February when the GHC Heavy belt is on the line.
~ All 4 men of Morishima’s Army stood in the ring to celebrate with the new champions. Morishima formally announced the name of his new team as … 超危暴軍 cho ki? bou? - gun, which is roughly Ultra… Dangerous… Violent… Army. Or something like that, I’ll update this as soon as I can determine a better translation.
~ Morishima declared that the army will dominate Noah with the first task of each member holding the GHC belts. Morishima and Maybach now have the heavyweight side on lockdown, now it is up to Kenou and Ohara to claim the junior belts.

    ———————————————————————-

Noah also announced the full card for the 2 Korakuen Hall shows that are taking place at the Korakuen in early February. The first on February 3 will see 11 singles matches announced. The show will see Takashi Sugiura return to the ring after spending the last several months on the sideline due to undergoing surgery on his right elbow. He will be returning against Atsushi Kotoge.
BJW’s Ryuichi Kawakami will also be making his debut in NOAH next month as he takes on Naomichi Marufuji. Kawakami takes a lot of style from the late Mitsuharu Misawa, and this will be a huge opportunity for the 25 year old to showcase his skills in a promotion he clearly adapted his own in-ting style from.
Katsuhiko Nakajima and Kenou will also be facing off in a singles match on the show. Both men are known for their striking abilities and this one is sure to not be anything less than a brutal kick war.
Speaking of wars, KENTA is looking to finally end this ongoing feud with Maybach Taniguchi. After weeks of attacks from Maybach as well as DQ finishes over the years. KENTA asked for their next match to be no rules and no way for a foul ruling to take place. There will be a winner.
The main event will see Takeshi Morishima taking on Shane Haste. This match will be coming off of the GHC Tag match on 1/25, so depending on that outcome something more could be setup. Regardless of that match though, Haste currently holds a pinfall victory over Morishima from the Global League back in October of 2013. Haste has also asserted himself as a potential challenger for the GHC Heavyweight belt, so this could definitely be one to keep an eye on.

    (11) Morishima-gun vs TMDK: Takeshi Morishima vs. Shane Haste
    ———————————————————————————————————-

The lastly, the full card for the second Korakuen Hall on February 8 has been announced. The main event has been announced previously with Morishima defending the GHC Heavyweight belt against Yuji Nagata.
Sugiura and KENTA will be teaming in the semi-final match as they take on Marufuji & Kotoge. Sugiura looks to be coming back strong, and it should be interesting to see how well he can bounce back following this last injury.
BJW’s Okabayashi & Kawakami will be competing in Noah once more as they take on Mohammed Yone & Ryuchi Kawakami. The BJW team has a lot to prove, and as mentioned before this will be yet another chance for Kawakami to showcase himself in the Noah ring.
Shane Haste will be getting his chance to enact some much needed revenge against Maybach Taniguchi, and also depending on the outcome of the 1/25 match, there could be more at stake in terms of revenge seeking.
Kenou will also be facing Hajime Ohara early in the show and this could possibly be a setup that Kenou needs to become the next contender for Ishimori’s junior heavyweight belt, that is if he manages to claim the win.
