[NJPW News] New Japan released the full events cards for the upcoming “Road to Wrestling Dontaku 2014” tour. As well as 3 more matches for the upcoming iPPV itself on May 3.

Among the additions to the main iPPV are a special 8 man elimination match as “New Japan Main Army” takes on. “BULLET CLUB”. BULLET CLUB looks aims for dominance at this show with this newly announced tag match, and then the new member of the group in AJ Styles taking on Okada in the main event for the IWGP Heavy belt.

It has also been announced that Satoshi Kojima will be defending the NWA World Heavyweight belt against a second generation wrestler in Wes Brisco. Wes’ father is of course Jerry Brisco and his uncle Jack Brisco is a former NWA Heavyweight Champion. Stan Hansen has been announced to be in attendance to oversee this match.

The “Forever Hooligans” have once more earned another shot at the IWGP Jr. Tag belts following the 2 day shows in Taiwan this past weekend, and the duo look to once more reclaim the belts as they take on the high flying brothers in the Young Bucks.

    Below are the updated cards…

If you are unaware there has been plenty of talk that Devitt is “potentially” WWE bound, and this could very well have settled everything that needs to be before Devitt heads out of NJPW.

[NJPW News Part 2] New Japan announced the full card for the upcoming “INVASION ATTACK 2014” iPPV on April 6.

The main event will see the IWGP Intercontinental belt once more on the line when Hiroshi Tanahashi defends against the NEW JAPAN CUP 2014 winner Shinsuke Nakamura. Nakamura wants another shot at the belt that he feels belong solely to him and this could very well be his last chance as he already 0-2, 1/4 & 2/9, to Tanahashi this year alone. Nakamura’s mind is solely on recapturing the belt and is looking to carry the momentum from the NJC to total victory.

The semi-final match will see the IWGP Tag belts on the line as Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows defend against the alliance of Hirooki Goto & Katsuyori Shibata. Anderson and Goto  are no strangers in the past in being both tag partners and rivals in the ring. Now they both have new tag partners, with Anderson finding success with Gallows, and Goto is looking to align himself with his childhood friend as they try and claim the top prize as a tag team.

Tetsuya Naito claimed a win over Tomohiro Ishii in the NEW JAPAN CUP and has set himself up for a rematch for the NEVER Openweight belt on the iPPV. Before the NJC though, Naito did pick up another win over Ishii and he feels that the momentum for another NEVER reign is firmly in his grasp.

The runner-up in the NEW JAPAN CUP, Bad Luck Fale will not be receiving an IWGP Heavyweight match at the iPPV, though he will be receiving a chance to line himself up either further in the standings as he takes on Okada in a tag match. Fale could indeed earn himself a challenge against Okada in the near future with a win, or at least even a strong showing against the champ.

Ryusuke Taguchi will be getting another chance to settle the score once and for all against Prince Devitt as the two are scheduled to face in singles competition. Taguchi has been trying to reclaim a top position as a New Japan junior since his return from injury, but has yet to get the much needed win to begin the climb back up. Due to the position of this match it appears that a contender for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight belt could be potentially decided upon as well.

Daniel & Rolles Gracie will once again be competing in the New Japan ring, but this time they will be taking on the rule-breaking heels in Toru Yano & Takashi Iizuka. Before joining NJPW, Yano was a skilled amateur grappler in his own right, even Iizuka as well before he went over the edge as a full-blooded wild man. It should be interesting to see the Gracies in a new match-up, but more so to see where they will be going following the match.

The event will also see the NWA World Tag belts on the line as Rob Conway & Jax Dane once more defend the belts against Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Satoshi Kojima. Kojima being the NWA World Heavyweight Champion as well, could be looking to claim the feat that Conway did last year in being a double NWA Champion.

Then the opening contest of the show will see the IWGP Junior Tag belts on the line as the Young Bucks defend against the team of Kota Ibushi & El Desperado. New Japan is clearly looking to start the event off with an explosive start as all four men utilize a lot of aerial feats and quick moves.

Below is the card in full.

[NJPW News] New Japan held a signing ceremony for the two upcoming headlining title matches as well as for Nagata and Sakuraba.

First up Yuji Nagata and Kazushi Sakuraba continued to show off their comradery as they have now debuted a matching attire for their upcoming rematch against the Gracie brothers. Following the outcome of the match at this years Tokyo Dome show, Nagata and Sakuraba have pushed to make choke and sleepers valid with the use of the Gi’s. Nagata stated there will be a lot of differences from wearing the gi’s to not and that there are also more advantages as seen from the Tokyo Dome show.

New Japan then held a signing ceremony for the upcoming IWGP IC match with the champion Hiroshi Tanahashi and the challenger Shinsuke Nakamura. Nakamura stated that he is thankful to receive a rematch so soon after suffering defeat, and that he is completely focused on recapturing the belt. He stated that he was clearly not ready to face Nakamura as they had not faced one another for a year or more previously, and the Tokyo Dome match had more or less opened his eyes. He aims to be at more than 100% before the upcoming match. Tanahashi stated that there is a lot of pressure to make his first defense, but that comes with being a champion. The white belt is still young in its lineage, but the history of the belt is made with ever match and he stated that his match(es) with Nakamura should be a defining match.

Then lastly was the title signing between the IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada and the challenger Hirooki Goto. Goto stated that he is aiming for a complete revival of himself. This last injury that put him out of action for 5 months, was indeed a setback, but his condition since returning is perfect, as seen with his match against Katsuyori Shibata at the Tokyo Dome. Goto stated that he still has a lot to prove, but he aims to take the belt from Okada to start. The challenger appears to be completely confident heading into the upcoming match.
Okada then got his chance to speak and said that he hopes Goto is at his best, as the IWGP belt is the utmost highest belt in the industry. It is something that is actually not in Goto’s reach. He futher added that he will destroy Goto and aims for that chin that Goto claimed is 100%. Okada said that he will be sure an have an ambulance ready in advance.
Goto further stated that will be harder to do than Okada thinks as he is completely healed, and that if Okada wants to throw the destroy word around he better be ready for that himself.
Okada stated that Goto has had 6 chances to be crowned IWGP Heavy champion and has failed every time. That Okada himself has already been crowned champion twice already. Okada stated that the outcome will be the same as last time. Rainmaker will be standing over Goto with the belt in hand.
