[ZERO1 News] ZERO1 recently held a press conference to announce heir full card for their next upcoming show on May 19th at the Shinkiba 1stRING.

The ZERO1 vs. NWF feud will be continuing strong with the 3 matches, 4 if you include ZERO64, with the NWF looking to maintain their win streak heading out of the Korakuen Hall show on May 4th.
James Raideen will be leading the group in the main event bout as he teams with Tama Williams and Mark Coffey to take on Shinjiro Otani, Masato Tanaka and Shito Ueda. NWF will definitely have a hard task in front of them with the ZERO1 leaders in Otani and Tanaka, but a win would certainly give them more power than ever.
Raideen also expressed that he and Maybach β want to challenge for the Intercontinental Tag belts which are currently held by Akebono and Daisuke Sekimoto.

Otani also announced that the 2013 edition of the Fire Festival will be taking place from July 17th to August 4th. The opening show on July 17th will also be held in the honor of Naohiro Hoshikawa, who would be celebrating his 20th Anniversary as a pro wrestler. Hoshikawa career was cut short in late 200r as he suffered a career ending injury while in competition.

This show will also see the dream teaming of Ikuto Hidaka and Fujita “Jr” Hayato as they take on, the current double junior champion, Jonathan Gresham and Jack Anthony. Gresham currently has no challenger for his newly won belts, but this match could potentially set up his first challenger.

[ZERO1 News] ZERO1 held a press conference to announce a few matches that will be taking place on their upcoming Korakuen Hall show on May 4th.

Jonathan Gresham arrived in Japan soon following his ZERO1 USA X-Division title win on April 20th and will have an opportunity to add 2 more belts to his waist as he faces off against the reigning ZERO1 Japan double crown junior champion in Takuya Sugawara.
Sugawara had previously earned himself a shot at Sugawara and the junior belts with his Tenkaishi (junior tournament) win last year. Gresham did not take the oppurtunity right away to challenge Sugawara, who himself slowly became frustrated that Gresham had never faced him after the win. Sugawara claims to be “the best” junior heavyweight champion, but he cannot fully embrace that claim without facing off against the Tenkaichi champion.
Gresham has spent the last several months traveling the world and honing his craft. Quite a few eyes will be on the this match as it could greatly impact the state of ZERO1 as a whole.
There is also another stipulation put in place that if Gresham manages to defeat Sugawara, both Sugawara and Mineo Fujita will have to join NEW AGE WRESTLING FUTURE. So it seems that the group as a whole is looking to be open for everyone, not just outsiders.

Speaking of NEW AGE WRESTLING FUTURE, they will be aiming to make an impact at the Korakuen Hall show as they will be apart of some key matches on the show. NWF are looking to unite as a cohesive unit and go on to control the future as the next generation stars. KAMIKAZE has already found himself on the wrong end of the newly-formed and he will be looking for redemption as he teams with Ikuto Hidaka, Yusaku Obata and Yoshikazu Yokoyama to take on the NWF team of Craig Classic, Sebastian Concrete, Jason New & Mark Coffey.

Mineo Fujita will be taking on Jack Anthony in a single match before Gresham and Sugawara happens later on in the night. Mineo could end up in the NWF if Sugawara falls. These two will be a clashing of styles with the “pretty boy” Mineo and “the gentleman” Jack Anthony.

In the last announced match from the press event, Kohei Sato will be teaming Shito Ueda and Daichi Hashimoto as they take on James Raideen, Maybach β and Tama Willaims. Raideen stated that he is on a higher level than his opponents as he does nothing but train (strength training) while Ueda and Daichi are trying to gain weight (weight training). Daichi took offense to Raideen’s comments and a fight broke out between the two. Ueda was held back by the other two members of NWF. After the brawl, Raideen continued with his comments and he closed it off by saying that they will win at any cost.

[ZERO1 News] ZERO1 announced the full cards for their upcoming shows in March. The announcement they made today was the inclusion of a big junior heavyweight tag match showdown for the show on March 6. Ikuto Hidaka will be teaming with NOAH’s Naomichi Marufuji to take on the team of Tatsuhito Takaiwa and Michinoku Pro’s, and current Tohoku Jr. Heavy Champion, Fujita “Jr” Hayato.
This match is a big way to set of the 12th Anniversary and a way to also mark the 15th Anniversary of Marufuji, who celebrates his achievement later on this year. Marufuji was a part of the very first match in ZERO1 back on March 2, 2001 as he faced off against Naohiro Hoshikawa.
Takaiwa was under Shinya Hashimoto when ZERO1 (ZERO-ONE) was founded and has quite the history competing with them throughout the years.
Fujita “Jr” Hayato is noted as one of the best junior wrestlers in Japan today and will be putting his Tohoku Jr. belt on the line against Ikuto Hidaka on March 17.
The inclusion of this junior bout is an interesting one and there is already quite a bit of interest being put between the potential confrontation between Hayato and Marufuji.

[ZERO1 News/Card Updates] ZERO1 announced the full card for their first show of 2013 as well as two upcoming title matches.

On December 29th, James Raideen will be defending the NWA UN Heavyweight belt against Will Gibson. The New Zealand native Raideen has had a strong year for himself since officially joining ZERO1 this year and it was all capped off when he won the UN Heavy belt. Raideen will be putting his title on the line against the Australia native Will Gibson in what should be a clash of power.
Gibson said that he has been training non-stop and has nothing but confidence in his upcoming title opportunity.

Moving on the first ZERO1 show of 2013 will see Ikuto Hidaka getting another opportunity against Sugawara’s double title reign. Sugawara currently holds all the junior belts in ZERO1, including the Jr. Tag, and Hidaka is looking to kick off the new year right, for himself, by reclaiming a title for his own.

Also announced for the first 2013 show is a big singles match for Daichi Hashimoto as he will be going up against, the former Yokozuna, Akebono. Daichi was called the top newcomer in Japan for 2012 and with the new year he is looking for a rebirth in a way. Following this match he will make his debut for New Japan Pro Wrestling and for the first time as well in the Tokyo Dome on January 4th. Daichi previously stated they he wants to begin his push up to heavyweight status as well that he has his eyes set on facing off for the UN Heavyweight belt sooner than later.

[ZERO1 News] Following the Announcement of all 12 teams that will be involved in the upcoming Furinkazan Tag League, ZERO1 has announced the matches that will be taking place on the first day.
The tournament will see the 1st round matches on December 13th, 2nd round on December 14th, and the Finals will conclude tournament on December 15th.

[ZERO1 News] Pro Wrestling ZERO1 held a press conference for the upcoming matches between Akebono vs. Atsushi Onita and Daichi Hashimoto vs. Daisuke Sekimoto on November 6.
Daichi would be up first for the press conference, Sekimoto did not attend, but Daichi can be noted as saying that he is looking to make his breakout as a singles competitor now. He has a tough challenge set before him with Sekimoto, but the upcoming match could be a major break for his career whether he wins or loses.

Next up is the meeting of Akebono and Atsushi Onita. The two are set to face off in the main event of the show in a Lumberjack Deathmatch.
During the press conference more information was released in regards to the rules of the match.
Akebono and Onita will each be allowed to have 4 Lumberjacks at ringside in their respected corners of the ring. None of the lumberjacks will be allowed to enter the ring. Weapons will be allowed, but the only way to win is by pinfall, submission, or KO in the ring.
Akebono previously announced that his tag partner in All Japan, Ryota Hama, will be one of his lumberjacks, so that leaves 3 others and that falls perfectly with his ZERO64 team of Takuya Sugawara, Mineo Fujita & Daisuke Sekimoto. As for Onita’s lumberjacks I can only suspect that Ichiro Yaguchi will be one of them.
Akebono even issued a challenge of his own, that if he loses ZERO64 will be disbanded.

[ZERO1 News] Pro Wrestling ZERO1 announced 3 more matches for the upcoming Korakuen Hall show on November 6.
Among the announced matches, Daichi Hashimoto will get his wish to face Daisuke Sekimoto one on one in the ZERO1 ring. After Daichi’s involvement in the BJW Tag League on the 10/29, he called out Sekimoto to a singles match. It did not take long for ZERO1 to make the match official and it will surely be one of the toughest if not physically demanding matches for son of the late Shinya Hashimoto.

Also announced is the inclusion of two 6 man tag matches with one revolving around heavyweights and the other for the juniors currently competing in ZERO1.

[ZERO1 News] Pro Wrestling ZERO1 announced that Akebono will be making his return to the ring as he faces off against Atsushi Onita in a singles match on November 6. As many of you should know, Akebono had to spent the last month and a half

out due to illness and has overcome it and is ready to return to competition. Akebono made the call out to Onita at ZERO1’s October 16th show and said that he will accept Onita’s rematch at anytime.

ZERO1 also announced that Yuhi will be making her return to the promotion after spending the last 6 months competing mainly in Stardom. The 17 year old rookie made her debut in ZERO1 back in April and after spending time away appealed to her main trainer Ikuto Hidaka for her to once again compete in the ZERO1 ring.

[ZERO1 News] Ikuto Hidaka announced his 15th Anniversay match as he will be teaming with Minoru Fujita. Both Hidaka [40] and Fujita [35] have been friends since coming into the business in 1997.
This will mark a return for Fujita as well, as the last time he has actively participated in the ring was in 2011 when he was portraying HERO! in DDT.
No opponents have been named for the tag match as of this time.

This is the second match announced for the as previously I reported on Manami Toyota competing on the show against Stardom’s Saki Kashima.
As well as, a kickboxer from Shimane Prefecture, Nobuchika Terado, who is also the current ISKA World Bantamweight Champion, will be participating on the show as well.

[ZERO1 6/14 Event Card Update] ZERO1 will be holding a big show coming up on June 14th. With the main event seeing Akebono defending the World Heavyweight belt against Masato Tanaka. Can Tanaka bring the belt back home or Akebono continue on with his monster like title reign?
The ZERO1 vs. NOAH battle continues as Shinjiro Otani will be teaming with Kohei Sato & KAMIKAZE as they take on the current GHC Heavyweight Champion Takeshi Morishima, Naomichi Marufuji & Mohammed Yone. Who will stand tall ZERO1 or NOAH?
Ikuto Hidaka has found himself a new ally in the ever growing war in Kaijin Habu-Otoko against Takuya Sugawara & Mineo Fujita. Kaijin though used to hold the NWA International Light Heavyweight Tag belts with Sugawara back in 2010-11, but it seems there is nothing more between the two. Will Hidaka finally get his revenge or fall prey to another cheap attack?
The other title match on the show see Shito Ueda defending the NWA UN Heavyweight belt against James Raideen. Both men have been training hard in preparation for the match and this should make for a good match between the two up and comers.
Ryoji Sai is looking to get revenge for his loss against Tomoaki Honma last month (5/16), and after spending some time abroad he is hoping it is the new edge that he needed.
The two Hashimoto’s, Daichi & Kazuki, will finally meet one on one on the upcoming show. As mentioned before they are not related though they share the Hashimoto name. The name is what has brought them against each other in a way, and there is a lot on the line in terms of pride. Who will end up being the better Hashimoto?
