[WRESTLE-1 News] W-1 announced that Seiya Sanada will be “potentially” defending the TNA X-DIVISION belt against Christopher Daniels at the next Korakuen Hall show on April 17.The “matchmaker” for W-1 in Manabu Soya announced the match today in a press conference. As of right now Sanada is the reigning X-DIVISION Champion but there is still a chance that he may lose the belt in-between today’s announcement and the 4/17 show. Daniels of course is a former multi-time X-DIVISION Champion as well as a someone has held championships from all over the entire world. This will mark the first time that the two will meet in singles competition, unless it happened in TNA already (?), and will surely be one of Sanada’s biggest tests to date, let alone potential defenses.A few more matches have been announced for the upcoming Korakuen Hall show at this time. [NOAH News] Pro Wrestling Noah held the official press signing for the upcoming GHC Heavyweight title match between Takeshi Morishima and Yuji Nagata, that is set for tomorrow February 8.

Morishima has more or less declared that he will successful defend the belt against Nagata and will continue forward as the monster champion.
Nagata on the other hand has a pinfall victory over Morishima and is waiting for the belt to now be on the line. This will mark the fourth time that Nagata has challenged for the GHC Heavyweight belt.
Nagata noted that he is aware of Morishima’s Chokibogun, army force, and he has dealt with many groups previously over the years in NJPW. He stated that Chokibo is still very young in comparison to them. Nagata will also not be bringing a second with him… which might prove bad as it is almost guaranteed that Maybach, Kenou and Ohara will get involved.

Morishima replied back that Chokibo might still be young, but that they will be quick in making an impact. They only plan to get more violent each and every day going forth. Morishima stated that he will take on everyone and that no one will stand in their way.

Morishima and Nagata then prepared for the photo session, but it was cut short as Maybach Taniguchi, Hajime Ohara, and Kenou came out and attacked Nagata from behind.

Morishima stated that this will be Nagata’s outcome tomorrow, then the group left the conference room with Nagata on the floor.

Nagata eventually arose in frustration and asked where Morishima and his army went, but they had already left.

~ Manabu Soya, who is currently the matchmaker in W-1, elaborated further with the upcoming show at the Ryogoku Kokugikan on March 2. Soya stated that the TNA World Heavyweight belt, the TNA World Tag belts, and the X-Division belt will all be defended on the show.

If you missed the news from yesterday.

    http://keepingthespiritalive.tumblr.com/post/75078328450/wrestle-1-tna-news-tna-has-released-a-public

~ 4 men will be competing for the right to challenge for the World Heavyweight belt. The matches will be as follows. Seiya Sanada vs. Minoru Tanaka and Yasufumi Nakanoueno vs. Masakatsu Funaki. This mini-tournament will take place on 2/15 at Korakuen.
~ A serious strange lack of KAI, but not shocking since Manabu has issues with KAI’s performance as of late.
~ KAI came out to challenge Soya’s decision, but Soya stated that KAI has had too much of a losing streak. Sanada then came out and offered his position to KAI, as he has already challenged for the World title and lost… and that he would prefer to be in the running for the X-Division belt.
~ It was decided that KAI will take Sanada’s place, but KAI did not appear happy to receive the spot from Sanada. BUT good news, now KAI gets the rematch he wanted against Minoru Tanaka.

~ Kaz Hayashi & Shuji Kondo came out to make a bid for the Tag Championship match, but DESPERADO also made their way out to make themselves known as a candidates as well.

    (9) KAI vs. Yuji Hino [K-DOJO]
◆Winner: Hino (7:27) with the Fucking BOMB.
image~ KAI’s losing streak continues, but he was assaulted before the match… this definitely appears to be leaving his TNA Championship opportunity in jeopardy.

~ Next up is the main event with Minoru Tanaka’s 20th Anniversary match, Minoru and Kanemoto came out. Then their opponents came out… all 4 men of DESPERADO… 2 on 4!?
… Then “Ride of the Valkyries" started playing and Yoshiaki Fujiwara came out. Then Jushin Thunder Liger’s theme began playing. The sides have been evened out to 4 vs. 4.

    (10) Minoru Tanaka’s 20th Anniversary Match: Minoru Tanaka, Koji Kanemoto, Yoshiaki Fujiwara [Fujiwara-gumi] & Jushin Thunder Liger [NJPW] vs. “DESPERADO” Masayuki Kono, Ryoji Sai, KAZMA SAKAMOTO & Rene Dupree

[AJPW News] All Japan held a press conference for first two newly announced title matches for the new year.

First up, Ultimo Dragon will be defending his newly won World Junior Heavyweight belt against Atsushi Aoki on January 2. Ultimo is now set to begin his first true run in All Japan and as a leading champion of the promotion. Aoki though is ever looking to claim his first singles championship and is aiming to showcase his very own style against the World renown veteran. Regardless, this will be one of the biggest matches for Aoki’s career to date and should ultimately give him a place to stand in the future if he can show everything that he has to offer.

Akebono finally accepted Takao Omori’s challenge for the Triple Crown belts following the main event tag match on the December 15th show, and the title match has been set for the second day of the back-to-back Korakuen Hall shows on January 3. Omori has been non-stop as of late with mentioning the Triple Crown belt as his next big task to accomplish, and his drive has finally proved to be in his favor as he has finally earned the TC match that he has been striving to get.
Akebono stated that this match should be the “Royal Road/Oudou match that he has been looking to compete in”, as Omori competed in All Japan back in the mid-late 1990’s.
Omori has been showing much tenacity to be take claim of his first potential Triple Crown reign and this should prove to be a tough challenge for Akebono’s first reign as well.

Also announced is Masanobu Fuchi will have a special match, potentially a 6 man tag with Suwama, on the 1/3 show in honor of his upcoming 60th Birthday.

Below are the first couple matches announced so far for the new year.

[NOAH News] The first GHC title match of the new year has been officially announced as KENTA defends the GHC Heavyweight belt against Takeshi Morishima.

KENTA successfully defended the GHC belt against NJPW’s Yuji Nagata this weekend and with that claimed the record for most defenses within a years time at 9 in total. KENTA is now looking towards the next goal of most defenses, which sits at 14 with Takashi Sugiura, but he is looking at nothing more than the challenges that are set before at the present time.

KENTA originally beat Morishima for the belt back on January 22, 2013 and this makes it a years time that Morishima is getting his rematch for the belt. This match will surely not be one to miss with KENTA looking to further his reign and Morishima looking to show that he can also carry NOAH under the “New Departure” generation.

Only the title match has been announced at this time.
