    [W-1 News] More matches have been announced for the upcoming Tokyo Dome City Hall show on May 4, as well as “matchmaker” Manabu Soya setting up a 5 single match trial for KAI.

    Among the announcements is that TNA’s Abyss & Kazarian will be heading back to Japan as they take on Great Muta & TAJIRI. Masakatsu Funaki will be teaming with the father and son team of Tatsumi Fujinami and LEONA, LEONA’s first appearance in W-1, as they take on the DESPERADO’s Masayuki Kono, Ryoji Sai & KAZMA SAKAMOTO. BJW’s powerhouse Daisuke Sekimoto will be making his return to W-1 as he takes one of the largest active wrestlers in Japan today in Ryota Hama. The lastly it has been made official that Minoru Tanaka and HUB will be facing off in singles competition.

    [DRADITION News] A press conference was held to announce the full card for the next DRADITION show on May 11 at the Korakuen Hall.

    Following the previously announced main event and the headlining feature of honoring Fujinami’s 60th birthday. Fujinami was present to announced that his son LEONA will be taking on NOAH’s Naomichi Marufuji in singles competition. Tatsumi wants to see his son undergo a high-classed test against one of the best all-around wrestlers in Japan today. Tatsumi hopes to see his son to continue learning what it means to be a professional wrestler and the depths one most go to learn. Tatsumi then stated that he had originally hoped for these two to face even sooner than this, as it is something he has had planned for a while now.

    Naomichi Marufuji then stated that he has been impressed with LEONA since his debut and he wants to see how far he can push the young rookie. Marufuji stated that LEONA has all the tools to become a great wrestler in the future. He then said that he plans to use everything from the basics fundamentals to the stuff that LEONA has yet to see personally since he began training.

    LEONA stated that he was surprised by the announcement and was then a bit nervous with the news. But now, he feels that he is ready for the challenge. He stated that he aims to practice and be completely ready for the challenge that faces him. He knows this match is not going to be easy, but he needs the experience to one day carry the Fujinami name proudly.

    Tatsumi then announced that he will be dawning the “red dragon” attire as he faces off against Koji Kanemoto in a special singles match to kick off his birthday event. Kanemoto made a direct appeal to face his the legend back in November of last year, which of course Fujinami has now accepted to happen. In a letter received by Fujinami he stated that Kanemoto is grateful for the opportunity and looks forward to facing the “red dragon”. (Red Dragon implies to the red attire that Tatsumi wore when he was still in the younger stages of his career.)
    This means that Fujinami will be competing twice on the show, in the opening contest and then in the main event.

    [NOAH News Part 2] Three match additions have been made to the upcoming GTL 2014 tour in April.

    First up, The new GHC Junior Tag Champions in Taiji Ishimori & Atsushi Kotoge will be making their first defense in a rematch to the team they beat for the titles, Ogawa & Sabre, on April 12. There is a lot of heat between the two teams heading into the match outside of the title switch, as Ishimori is still looking to exact revenge after being busted open by Ogawa on the 3/21 show. Ishimori stated that he has not one but two headbutts ready for the upcoming match.

    Then Pro Wrestling Noah has made it official that Daisuke Harada will be defending the GHC Junior Heavywweight belt against Atsushi Kotoge on April 19. Harada stated that “this is destiny” that the two of them would meet for the belt. The former allies in Osaka Pro-Wrestling now turned rivals in NOAH. Harada continues to state that he aims to start a new wave for the junior class in NOAH and there is no more meaningful of a match than someone who knows him quite like Kotoge, and vice-versa.

    [Real Japan News] The First Tiger Mask held a press conference to announced a few more matches for the upcoming Real Japan show on April 16.

    Tiger Mask looks to continue to building towards the full restoration of the true strong style and has booked a pro-wrestling and mixed martial arts main event as Tatsumi Fujinami teams with Hiromitsu Kanehara (former RINGS/PRIDE/Pancrase fighter) to take on Riki Ishin (former sumo turned wrestler) and Kazuhiko Ogasawara (Karate turned pro-wrestler).

    It was also announced that Mitsuo Momota & Chikara (Momota) will be teaming together in Real Japan for the first time. The father and son duo will be teaming along with Masao Orihara to take on the team of Gran Hamada, Ultimo Dragon & Hayato Mashita. Chikara stated that he has been working on perfecting his grandfathers (Rikidozan) trademark chop and says that everyone should keep an eye out if he goes to the top rope.

    Tiger Mask also announced that Super Tiger will be defending the Legends Championship against the mysterious Great Tiger. There is still a lot to be known about Great Tiger. But after the impact that was felt from his debut, Super Tiger more or less wants the match to happen.

    [DRADITION News] Tatsumi Fujinami held a press conference to announce his 60th Anniversary match that is coming up on May 11.Fujinami was joined by Pro Wrestling Noah’s Takashi Sugiura as Fujinami announced that he will be taking on Sugiura for the first time ever in a tag match.     [LEGEND/DRADITION News] It has been announced that Tatsumi Fujinami will be teaming with his son LEONA (Leona Fujinami) for the very first time on January 13, 2014 in LEGEND THE PRO-WRESTLING at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.

    The LEGEND executive committee released the statement today (11/2) that Tatsumi and LEONA will be teaming together as they take on the team of Riki Choshu and Yukio Sakaguchi, Yukio [40] is the eldest son of Seiji Sakaguchi. This will mark LEONA’s 2nd match as a professional wrestler, following his debut on November 19th, and a major step forward as he teams with his father.

    The eternal rivalry between Tatsumi and Riki Choshu has been going on for nearly 30 years now and it appears that LEONA will now witness it for himself. LEONA will also face against Yukio Sakaguchi who he himself is a 2nd generation wrestler. This will also mark the first time that Tatsumi and Yukio will be in the ring against one another.

    It was noted that when LEONA was informed of this match that he showed a bit of tension in his face with being up against Yukio Sakaguchi. LEONA stated that he is looking forward to any and all tests before him and he is honored to be in a match with all these guys who have so much experience. He stated that he is practicing every day to become stronger and that he is determined to show his fullest at the this next match.

    Winner: Funaki (7:48) following the Hybrid Blaster.
    ~ The second generation Fujinami official made his debut, but suffered defeat to the veteran Funaki. LEONA was in tears as he thanked everyone for the support and as he now officially begins the next step in his career as a professional wrestler.

    ~ Riki Choshu was unable to compete, Alexander Otsuka too his place.
    Winner: Sekimoto (14:10) with a Ground Cobra Twist Hold on Saito.
    ~ Saito stated that he wants a singles rematch against Sekimoto.

    Winner: Fujinami (10:30) with a Backslide on Tiger Mask.

    [DRADITION News] Tatsumi Fujinami held a public training session with his son Leona Fujinami [20] at the NishiChofu Kakutogi Arena (West Chofu Martial Arts Arena) in the greater Tokyo area.

    Leona has been training for a year and a half now and is eager to make his debut on Novenver 19 against Masakatsu Funaki. Leona’s father has been behind him since day one of his announcement of his decision to become a professional wrestler and nothing has been handed to him in terms of his training.

    Leona also announced that he will be going by “LEONA” as his official ring name at this time. Leona stated that he wants to establish himself as a wrestler and that he wants to inherit the family name when he feels that he has indeed earned the name.

    Leona showcased a few moves during the practice to from a “key lock”, “headscissors”, and even a staple move of his fathers in a “Dragon Screw”.

    The second generation “Dragon” has a long road ahead, but he is clearly already determined to make the future his own.

    [DRADITION News] Tatsumi Fujinami called for a press conference for the upcoming event on November 19th to announce the full event card for the show and to bring together the competitors scheduled for the main event.Besides the main event, it was already previously announced that Leona Fujinami’s will be making his debut against Masakatsu Funaki and that Leona’s trainer partner, at the Snake Pit Japan, Ryuta Hasumi would be making his debut as well. Fujinami announced that Hasumi will be making his debut against Alexander Otsuka in the opening contest of the the show. At a recent press conference Tatsumi Fujinami was pleased to announced that Leona will be facing Masakatsu Funaki in singles action.This announcement came as a surprise to the 19 year old Leona as Tatsumi did not tell him before hand whom he would be facing.Tatsumi stated that Funaki has always seen Funaki as a success, stemming back to their NJPW days and Funaki being under him as an assistant. Funaki has competing in both MMA and Pro Wrestling over the years and has built up his own style in the world of professional wrestling. Funaki would be the best person to show Leona the severity of what professional wrestling holds.Masakatsu Funaki: He said we amazed when he was offered the chance to face Leona about a month ago.     [DRADITION News] Tatsumi Fujinami held a press conference to announced that DRADITION will be holding a show on November 19th at the Korakuen Hall. And with that announcement came the headlining match and that his eldest son Leona Fujinami will be making his professional debut on that day.

    Naomichi Marufuji (NOAH’s Vice President) was also on hand for the press conference as it was announced he would be taking part in the main event which will see Tatsumi Fujinami teaming with Koji Kanemoto to take on the team of The First Tiger Mask and Marufuji. Fujinami then stated that Leona Fujinami and Ryuta Hasumi, who has been training along with Leona, will both be making their debut’s in the promotion.

    Fujinami went on to say that he is a fan of Marufuji’s work and is looking forward to the chance of finally facing against him in the ring. Marufuji said that he is honored when he received the call from Fujinami about the event and he hopes to continue learning as well as seeing what the future has in store.

    Tiger Mask could not attend the meeting due to business, but a message was left in his absence. Tiger looks forward to the match and what it means towards his proposed revival of professional wrestling. To have names from the past and present and for them to be in the ring at the same time means a lot. He hopes the fans will come and be a apart of this moment.

    Koji Kanemoto also as well left a message to read. Kanemoto said he is excited for the match and to be in the ring with Marufuji and Sayama (Tiger Mask) at the same time. Then to team with Fujinami, whom he looked up to for many years, he aims to fight hard and confidently.
    Kanemoto being a former Tiger Mask himself holds much respect for what Sayama has done for pro wrestling and aims to show him the experience he has learned over the last 20+ years.

    Leona Fujinami stated he will be training nonstop to prepare for his official debut in 3 months time. He has spent the few months competing in exhibition matches and has realized that there is still a long road for him to go before he makes his debut. Leona aims to makes sure that he is at the top of his level and will be heading off to train in England/UK here soon at the Billy Riley Gym.

    Tatsumi stated that no opponent will be named at this time for Leona and he will be waiting to hear back from Leona’s training in the UK first and foremost.
