[LEGEND News] A press conference was held for LEGEND THE PRO-WRESTLING with Tatsumi Fujinami, First Tiger Mask and Riki Choshu, as an announcement was made that Fujinami and Choshu will meet in singles competition on July 14th. They will also meet in a tag match just a few days before their singles match on July 12th, as Fujnami teams with Hiro Saito to take on Choshu and AKIRA.
Fujinami and Choshu have a rival history dating back all the way to the 80’s and it seems that this next meeting could very well be touted as their final singles encounter? Though if we know anything with wrestling, don’t ever count anything out.
It has been near a year and a half since both men have had a singles match, with both looking forward to the meeting, as well as aiming to do their best.

Tiger Mask is continuing to improve his physical condition and hopes to be near perfect condition by the time of the shows in July. No matches have been determined for Tiger at this time.

[DRADITION News] Tatsumi Fujinami announced that his son, Leona Fujinami, will be competing in his first public “exhibition match” on May 29th at the Korakuen Hall.
This exhibition will be a pre-debut (fight) match. In other words to showcase the skills he has learned at this time.

Tatsumi Fujinami (49) held a brief press conference to announce that Leona (19) just finished his training for the second time in the UK and he his official debut showed be coming sometime later this year. Tatsumi announced that Leona will be facing an opponent of the UWF Snake Pit Japan which, representative of the dojo, Yuko “Shigeo” Miyato was also present for the announcement.

Leona is currently going to a University while training, and is both happy and even nervous for the day he gets to make his debut. There will be a lot of pressure for the second generation star as his father has such a rich history.

[DRADITION News] A press conference was held for DRADITION to announce that they will be holding a show on May 29, as well two of the matches that will be held on the show.

Fujinami, Tiger Mask, Funaki and AKIRA were on hand for the press conference. Fujinami started off by saying that this is the first step for himself to make a new impact, something exciting, and that is why he chose Funaki as one of his opponents. Fujinami is familiar with Funaki from watching over him in practice in the mid-1980’s and up until Funaki left to MMA. Funaki has sense made himself a name in Japan from his time in MMA and now being the reigning All Japan Triple Crown Champion.

Because of their connection when Funaki was starting out, Funaki feels that this match has a pretty special feeling already for himself, and hopefully for the fans as well.

There was also mention that Tatsumi Fujinami’s eldest son, Leona Fujinami [19], could “potentially” be making his debut on the show.

[All Japan News] Tatsumi Fujinami & Seiya Sanada held a public practice in the All Japan Dojo in preparation for their upcoming match against Ric Flair & Keiji Mutoh on January 26th.
Sanada will have a lot to prove by being surrounded in the ring by legends, but at the same time it is a huge opportunity for him to get noticed as well.
Sanada has previously mentioned that this is a huge clash of legends who he has idolized throughout his career. His style is greatly built off of Fujinami & Mutoh, and Sanada says that he has always enjoyed watching Flair’s in ring style. This is definitely a dream come true for the 24, almost 25, year old.
During the practice, Fujinami helped show Sanada the finer points of the Dragon Sleeper and even the Figure Four Leg Lock.
This will mark the first time for Sanada to team with Fujinami and it seems that Fujinami has given his full endorsement to the up and comer.

[LEGEND News] Yukio Sakaguchi [30], who is the eldest son of Seiji Sakaguchi, will be teaming with Tatsumi Fujinami & Riki Choshu as they take on Masahiro Chono, Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Jushin Thunder Liger on January 13, 2013 as LEGEND has a show at the Korakuen Hall.

Yukio has spent most of his life as a MMA fighter and was never aspiring to be a professional wrestler like his father, but it seems he is more interested now in the pro wrestling side of things. Yukio has recently competed in DDT for a couple show since August.

[Wrestling New Classic News] June will see Ryuji Yamakawa coming into WNC as he teams with, his friend and owner of WNC, TAJIRI for the next 3 shows before he officially retires on July 15th.

The other big matches bigger matches announced for the upcoming shows is Ohara going up against NOAH’s Maybach Taniguchi on June 22nd. Ohara originally was just looking to face off against fellow Toryumon trainee Kazuchika Okada. Of course things have not gone his way. He has found himself up against Gedo & Toru Yano who both used illegal means to beat him and now the unruly Maybach Taniguchi. Maybach attacked Ohara following his match against Yano on 5/24 and a match would be inevitable. Ohara is 0-2 in his bid against Okada, but being he has been not been pinned clean keeps his bid to face Okada still a possibility. Leatherface will be coming back and will have some interesting matches in store. He has the “Unbeatable Alien” Hoshito Takahashi on 6/22, Kana on 6/23, and the legend Tatsumi Fujinami on 6/24.

[Real Japan News] The Original Tiger Mask and Atsushi Onita will finally meet one on one in the Real Japan ring on June 20th. The match has been decided upon for a while and has been building up for much of this year already, but one of the major factors of this match is that it has come down to a Deathmatch in the RJPW. Which is something that Tiger never built Real Japan to house.

On June 20th, Tiger and Onita will face off in a “Dangerous Special Lumber Jack Death Match”. It seems that both sides will be bringing their best men to stand around ringside, and what makes things worse is that everything is legal. So there is no telling how out of hand this match could become.

Also headlining the show will be a 4 legend tag match pitting Tatsumi Fujinami & Riki Choshu up against Yoshiaki Fujiwara & Hiro Saito.
Masao Orihara will be going up one on one with Ichiro Yaguchi, and Tiger Shark will be going up against NJPW’s Tiger Mask IV.
